Steven Adams of Oklahoma City Thunder in concussion protocol, out vs. New York Knicks


Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams has been placed in the league’s concussion protocol and will not play Saturday against the New York Knicks, it was announced.

Adams suffered a blow to the head while defending Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid with 32 seconds remaining in the first overtime of a 119-117 triple overtime win over the 76ers. He continued to play, fouling out with 2:12 remaining in the third overtime.

Adams, who is averaging 13.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game this season, will be re-evaluated Sunday.
